The Fresh-Aire UV Light reduces odors, toxic chemical vapors, germs and mold in your home.

Friday, November 12th, 2010

A lot of people ask, “Does the UV light produce smells”. Well the answer is yes, some brands do for a short period of time after being newly installed. However, the brand we offer does not produce any noticeable smell after install.

The FRESH-AIRE UV light is installed in the duct-work of your central air system and is designed to help reduce odors, toxic chemical vapors, germs and mold in your home.

Detox the air in your home and protect you and your loved ones from:

  • Alternaria
  • Dust Mites
  • Aspergillus
  • E Coli
  • Pollen
  • Mold

How does the UV Light work?

By removing airborne contaminants as the air is circulated by the central HVAC system. Using a proprietary absorption media to capture VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) then reduces the captured constituents through an innovative photo-cytaltic oxidation process (PCO) which breaks them down into elemental carbon dioxide and water vapor.

Toxic airborne compounds are captured in the photo-catalytic carbon matrix

As odors and chemical contaminants circulate through your air handling system, the ultraviolet light unit utilizes a highly absorptive carbon media which captures these contaminants, removing them from the air stream, much like a sponge absorbs water.

The toxic molecules are broken down into simple water vapor and CO2

During the off cycles of the air handler the UV Light self-regenerating photo-catalytic oxidation process breaks down the captured contaminants and frees up the carbon cell to be able to capture additional airborne VOC’s and odors.

UV Light limits the spead of bio-contaminants like mold and viruses

In addition to the units system’s ability to absorb airborne VOCs, the UV light helps to maintain the cleanliness of your central ac system by shining on the duct-work, cooling coils, heat strips and blowers that are prone to biological growth that can contaminate and clog the system.

UV-C Light Kills Germs

For over a century scientists have known that certain frequencies of light have a devastating effect on microbial life. We now know that exposure to ultraviolet light in the range of 254 NM (UV-C band) disrupts the DNA of micro-organisms, thus preventing them from reproducing, thereby effectively killing them.

The Science of Clean Air

Over time mold can build up on cooling coils. this is a health risk that robs the air system of efficiency and requires cleaning with chemicals. The germicidal UV light inside kills mold and keeps the coil and air system interior clean.

Recent studies have shown that the level of invisible airborne organic chemical and odor contaminates in our indoor air is generally two to five times higher then the levels found outdoors. while some of these substances merely smell bad, others can be extremely harmful.

these contaminates, known as Volatile Organic Compounds are carbon-based chemicals that easily evaporate at room temperature. The unique technology inside the Fresh-Arie UV helps to eliminate VOCs, making your home a safer and more pleasant place to live.

Common Sources of VOCs Include:

  • Buildings materials
  • Carpets and adhesives
  • Upholstery fabrics
  • Vinyl floors
  • Composite wood products
  • Paints and varnishes
  • Sealing caulks and glues
  • Carpet cleaning solvent
  • Home and personal care products
  • Air cleaners that produce ozone
  • Cleaning and disinfecting chemicals
  • Cosmetics
  • Smoking and fireplaces
  • Fuel oil and gasoline
  • Moth balls
  • Vehicle exhaust from an attached garage

We look forward to discussing your home air quality with you.

RAPL Series

Rheem Classic Series 14 SEER Premium Condensing Unit Featuring R-410A Refrigerant

RHEEM GREEN IS MORE THAN SKIN DEEP

The RAPL model features Earth-friendly R-410A refrigerant.

SCROLL COMPRESSOR

The most expensive component of any condensing unit is the compressor. Rheem installs Copeland® Compliant Scroll® Compressors throughout its entire residential air conditioning line for proven dependability, efficiency, and sound reduction.

WRAP AROUND CABINET

Rheem air conditioning units are constructed with a powder-coat paint finish and galvanized steel cabinet to protect the condensing coil fins from yard hazards, extreme weather, and corrosion.

BASE PAN

The entire Rheem air conditioning line uses a sturdy, one-piece drawn and painted base pan. This pan elevates the coil off the pad, helping minimize corrosion while reducing sound and vibration.

PRESSURE CONTROLS

Rheem installs high and low pressure controls on high-efficiency models (options on standard-efficiency models) to protect the scroll compressor from pressure extremes.

OUTDOOR COIL

Rheem air conditioning units use an innovative wraparound outdoor coil constructed of copper tubing and aluminum fins. This design allows improved airflow transfer and helps reduce energy consumption.

EASY-ACCESS PANEL

Servicing your Rheem air conditioning unit is easy thanks to the single “easy access” panel. A service technician can easily remove this panel for access to the compressor and control box.

RQPW-B Series

Rheem Classic Series 14 SEER Package Dual Fuel featuring Earth-Friendly R-410A Refrigerant

THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS

The Package Dual Fuel Unit is a package heat pump with a gas furnace installed in the heat section instead of electric heat that a standard package heat pump features. This hybrid package system allows for both comfort and energy savings by utilizing the electric heat pump for warmth, except in colder periods, which is when the gas furnace would take over to assure maximum comfort and energy savings.

THE COPELAND SCROLL COMPRESSOR

All of our residential package units – regardless of efficiency level – feature the Copeland Compliant Scroll Compressor. The scroll compressors uses a more advanced technology than traditional reciprocating compressors. They have fewer moving parts, and they are quieter, more efficient, and longer lasting.

DURABLE CABINET WITH LOUVERED CONDENSER COMPARTMENT

Our cabinets have a powder painted finish that protects them from the harshest weather extremes and keeps them looking new for years. And our louvered condenser compartment is the best in the industry for protecting the condenser coil against yard hazards and weather extremes.

GRILLE/FAN MOTOR MOUNT

Our motor mount helps protect the fan motor from the elements for longer life. Its design also helps reduce vibration and noise.

FURNACE COMPARTMENT

Located inside the easily accessible furnace compartment is the control box, draft inducer motor, in-shot gas burners, the gas valve and manifold. Control box operational controls are “up front” for quick access and service diagnostics. The draft inducer motor is specially designed to quietly provide combustion air while simultaneously venting outdoors the combustion products from the furnace heat exchanger. In addition to the draft inducer motor, the in-shot gas burners, gas valve and manifold efficiently regulate the flow of gas for combustion. These new gas/electric units also feature direct-spark ignition and remote flame sensors for added reliability and efficiency.

MATCHED BLOWER/EVAPORATOR COIL UNIT

The blower is responsible for the flow of air into your ductwork. It has been designed to match the evaporator coil and other system components for maximum efficiency. In addition, the coil features rifled copper tubing and enhanced fins for improved efficiency.

TUBULAR HEAT EXCHANGER

Our new Package Dual Fuel Units feature a tubular stainless steel heat exchanger design.Tubular heat exchangers are more efficient and durable than older-style clam-shell heat exchangers. The factory standard stainless steel heat exchanger is backed by a limited lifetime warranty in residential applications.

SERVICE FITTINGS

Exterior service fittings enable a serviceman to quickly determine unit operating conditions.
